Meet the London orchestra using vegetables as instruments
A new show is heading to the West End for one night only this winter and though you may hear showtunes at this performance, it’s not in the way you might think.
The London Vegetable Orchestra is teaming up with ‘Ginsters’ Cornish Pasties to play some of the nation’s favourite songs with instruments made entirely from swedes and potatoes.
Tickets will be the very reasonable price of a pasty and it’s all in aid of The Trussell Trust, to combat food poverty across the UK.
Helena spoke to two of the vegetable musicians, Clare Graham and Patrick Johns about their West End debut and got to hear a couple of songs, before trying herself, pretty unsuccessfully, to play the potato.
The ‘Farmonic’ Orchestra launches in the ‘Other Palace Theatre’ on the 3rd November.
